Overview

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. Your responsibilities will include managing the cash register, assisting customers with their inquiries, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience in our grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns. Assist with product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and promote sales. Upsell products and services to maximize sales opportunities. Maintain merchandising standards by organizing product displays and ensuring shelves are stocked. Handle cash transactions with accuracy, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations. Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash register operations and retail math calculations. Maintain a clean and organized work area to enhance the shopping experience for customers.

Skills

Proficient in using POS systems and cash registers. Previous supervising experience is a plus. Ability to conduct product demos effectively to engage customers. Bilingual skills are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customers. Strong phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. Experience in upselling techniques to enhance sales performance. Knowledge of merchandising principles to create appealing product displays. Familiarity with stocking procedures to ensure inventory is well-maintained. Background in retail sales with a focus on customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
