Duties

Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers Upsell related products or accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays Assist with inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and organizing products for easy access Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone inquiries or follow-up calls Support the team with basic retail math calculations for discounts, totals, and change handling Promote a positive shopping experience through friendly communication skills and proactive assistance Engage in product knowledge sessions to stay informed about store offerings and promotions

Experience

Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively Supervising experience in retail settings is advantageous for those interested in leadership development opportunities Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math enhances performance in this role Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers confidently and professionally Experience in grocery stores or retail sales environments helps in understanding customer expectations and store operations Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory tasks
