Job summary

Responsible for ensuring an extraordinary customer store experience while operating cash registers, collecting payment and providing customer service assistance on the floor.

Summary of essential job functions:

Immediately greets all customers and ensures customer satisfaction Accurately operates cash register, collects payment Ability to ring minimum speed of 30 items per minute Anticipates customer needs and answer all questions and requests thoroughly, including assistance with store layout, service and activities Basic knowledge of pricing and products Detailed knowledge of produce codes Provide suggestions and product recommendations to customers Ensure all customer and phone inquiries and pages are handled with appropriate telephone etiquette. Provides support to Grocery Department for stocking food, packing/pricing products and merchandise Complete specials projects and other duties as assigned

Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends Timely and consistent attendance.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

Exceptional customer service skills Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills Strong basic math skills including add, multiply, divide, subtract and calculate percentages. Previous experience working in a retail environment preferred. * Ability to multitask and use organizational skills
