Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

Operate POS systems to process sales quickly and accurately Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and answering inquiries Assist with product demos and upselling to enhance sales opportunities Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays Conduct product sampling or demonstrations when applicable Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming Manage stock levels and communicate inventory needs to management Uphold phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries Support team members with cashiering duties during busy periods

Requirements

Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store preferred Familiarity with POS systems and retail math calculations Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and sales reporting Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers Experience supervising or leading small teams is advantageous Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is beneficial Ability to handle cash handling responsibilities responsibly Professional appearance with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed
Pay: From $13.67 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
