Overview

American Legion Apache Post 27 provides services to military veterans and their families including a place to build community, socialize, have a good meal and enjoy a variety of entertainment. We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and have experience in restaurant/food service. As Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The position offered is Seasonal beginning mid to late September through the end of April. Responsibilities

Prepare Clover POS system for processing transactions including counting and opening till with appropriate cash amount and documenting in the POS system Accept and process cash and credit card payments for food orders Process cash tips for servers by placing them in the appropriate server's tip jar Verify and calculate server's credit card tips using the Reporting tool on the POS Reconcile transactions for all sales occurring during shift using Reporting tool. Replenish required cash for till to equal same amount at open and close of shift Process cash from drawer to create expected deposit as indicated in reporting tool, including printed sales overview. Secure Cash Bag in office safe at end of shift Assist servers with processing transactions during shift Serve as liaison between customers, servers, bussers and kitchen staff Report issues to Kitchen Manager and/or Commander as appropriate Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including merchandising displays and stocking shelves as needed. Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate transactions and change given.
Qualifications

Previous experience in cashiering or food service sales is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. Basic math skills necessary for cash handling and retail math calculations. POS experience (Clover preferred) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to sales and customer service. ServSafe Food Handlers certification required.
