The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Casework Management Specialists provide casework services and service coordination for children, vulnerable and/or older adults, and their respective families and may be assigned to one of many specialized programs and/or facilities where duties may be performed in the home and/or any similar residential setting.
Incumbents perform some of the duties described in the series concept and continue to receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Casework Management Specialist 2 underfilling Casework Management Specialist 3 in the Fernley Child Welfare office. Under Supervision, Incumbent provides child welfare services to children and families to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs; ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met; provide strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children; including home visits; monitoring services; report preparation and record keeping. Incumbents receive training in performing the duties outlined in the series concept. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, special education, human growth and development, criminal justice, psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, gerontology, or closely related social science or human services related field and one year of professional experience providing casework services to clients in a health and/or human services program; OR one year of experience as a Casework Management Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Bachelor's degree level as described above.


Special Requirements

Positions require a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
