The Case Stacker is responsible for stacking cases, units, and baskets, both manually and with an automatic palletizer. This role requires maintaining a fast pace, with an output of approximately 500 cases per hour, while ensuring accuracy and quality.
Work Schedule:
Days - Sunday to Thursday
Hours - 8:50 pm to approximately 6:00 am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Setup and Operation:
Set up and operate the automatic palletizer according to production needs. Work with the production coordinator to get and verify labels for programming the machine.
Manual Stacking:
Manually stack cases, units, and baskets not suited for the palletizer. This involves lifting items from a conveyor to a pallet and ensuring correct quantities are stacked per skid.
Material Management:
Verify that all necessary materials are stocked and ready for production at the beginning of and throughout the shift.
Quality Control:
Ensure each pallet has a uniform number of levels and the correct label. Monitor the number of cases to ensure orders are complete.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Maintain and troubleshoot the automatic palletizer and tape machine, including changing tape rolls and clearing jams.
Safety and Environment:
Maintain a clean and safe work area, handling spills or breakages as they occur. Assist with wrapping or banding pallets as needed.
Additional Duties:
Perform any other tasks assigned by the Production Manager.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Excellent communication and people skills.
The ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Strong attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset.
The ability to stay positive and professional in stressful situations.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Electric pallet jack certification is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to stand for a 10-hour shift.
Must have the ability to lean, bend, twist and stretch.
Must be able to lift above shoulder level occasionally.
Requires the ability to keep up with a fast-paced environment, handling roughly
500 cases per hour
.
Non-slip steel-toe boots are required.
The work environment is a production area with cement floors and loud machinery.
Must always be aware of your surroundings.
Must be able to repetitively lift 30-60 pounds.
