Case Manager/Financial Specialist for Behavioral Health - Posting #25833

Hourly Rate: $20.60 per hour

Position Summary:

Sea Mar Behavioral Health Program is seeking a Full-time Financial Specialist/Case Manager to join their team at its Bellingham Child and Family site. This is a split position, working a total of 40 hours per week. Please see details below.

Financial Specialist: The Financial Specialist performs financial screenings and provides account management for behavioral health clients. In addition, will perform some phone coverage and clerical duties (as assigned). The Financial Specialist is an active member of the behavioral health team in the delivery of client services.

Financial Specialist Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • Associate\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or two years of closely related work experience
  • Work experience may be substituted for the degree
  • Computer proficiency and customer service skills required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, Bi-cultural preferred.
Case Manager: The role of the case manager is to work with and support the clinicians through the provision of resources, advocacy, and referrals to clients. The case manager provides primary community support/case management to mentally ill, homeless, and substance abuse clients. This position serves as an internal resource for community referrals and linkages, and participates actively as a team member in the delivery of client services and the coordination of community support services. The case manager will need to develop and maintain relationships with other community agencies and organizations.

The person in this position must be of good character and able to maintain the understanding, physical health, emotional stability and personality suited to meet the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of the population served. This person must have the capacity to establish a liaison relationship with community resources, provide outreach service to clients, and demonstrate professionalism and appropriate boundaries in all interactions. Must be willing to work later hours (after 5pm) on some days, and may require work within schools or other non-traditional settings.

Case Manager Qualifications:
  • An Associates of Arts Degree in Behavioral Health, Health Sciences, or related field and two years of closely related work experience is required. Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Experience in Mental Health or Case Management preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are a must.
  • Must be eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration from the State Department of Health. Must have an active Agency Affiliated license within 60 days of hire.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, Bi-cultural preferred.
