JOB SUMMARY
: The Supportive Services for Veterans Families (SSVF) Case Manger will be under the direction of the Kiowa Tribe Veterans Office Director (KTVOD); This position will provide direct services to very low-income Veteran Families and assessing the vulnerable Veteran who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with their needs, creating housing stability plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SSVF Case Manager will provide respectful, individualized and effective trauma-informed case management services to ensure Veteran Clients receive the case management assistance needed to promote housing stability.
Must be detailed-oriented and organized,
Must possess client engagement and motivational skills.
Manages multiple tasks.
Proficient in the Microsoft Office and data entry systems, with a strong aptitude for learning.
Must be friendly and possess excellent verbal and written communications skills to engage clientele.
Develops, and maintains assessments of client needs.
Develops, and maintains a Housing Stability Plan that will ensure the stability of household needs.
Provides clients with VA, state and local benefits based upon client eligibility.
Administers and provides Temporary Financial Assistance as needed.
Provides clients with referrals for services with community partners and other relevant resources.
Provides follow-up services to clients to ensure needs are met and client stability.
Creates and maintains an organized and accurate client file system.
Provides data and narrative information for periodic reports as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of prior experience working with homeless individuals and/or households or prior experience working with military and/or Veteran population.
Must possess experience and/or knowledge of community resources available to veterans.
Must possess a minimum of six (6) months of Case management work experience.
Ability to work independently while meeting work expectations and program standards.
Prior Military Experience preferred.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Oklahoma state driver's license and be insurable under the Kiowa Tribe's Driving Policy
Must submit to and pass a background check that will allow DOJ clearance to enter military bases.
Must submit to and pass drug testing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must successfully perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodations
Speak and hear well enough to understand, respond and communicate clearly in person or on the phone
Sufficient mobility to stand, sit walk, stoop and bend to access work environment and standard office environment
Ability to sit or walk for prolong periods of time
Drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings, veteran home visits, and take veterans to medical appointments and attend burial services.
