Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Repair & Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced repairs and maintenance of various systems and equipment throughout the hotel. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and efficiency, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. Our hotel operates 24/7, and team members must be flexible and ready to adapt their schedules based on business demands.



Key Responsibilities:



General Repairs:

Perform a wide range of maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety.

Guest Room Maintenance:

Address repairs in guest rooms, such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, adjusting fixtures, and ensuring all appliances are in good working order.

Public Area Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections and repairs in public areas, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of restrooms, lobbies, and other common spaces.

Preventive Maintenance:

Implement and oversee a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize system failures and enhance the longevity of hotel equipment and facilities.

Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to urgent repair requests and emergencies, minimizing disruption to guests and hotel operations.

Equipment Monitoring:

Regularly inspect and maintain fire alarm, HVAC, and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and responding to any alarms or issues.

Complex Repairs:

Troubleshoot and perform repairs on more complex systems, including kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and mechanical systems, requiring advanced technical skills and knowledge.

Project Management:

Lead and coordinate larger maintenance projects, working with contractors or vendors when necessary to ensure timely and effective completion.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct quality control checks on completed work, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations.

Collaboration:

Work closely with management and other departments to ensure that maintenance needs are met efficiently and effectively, contributing to a cohesive work environment.

Inventory Management:

Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring necessary materials are stocked and available for timely repairs.

Training and Mentoring:

Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff, sharing best practices and fostering skill development within the team.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and equipment status, providing comprehensive reports to management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:



Technical college certification or relevant licenses required. Proven experience as a repair and maintenance technician in a hotel or similar setting, with a focus on supervisory or team-leading roles. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot various systems and equipment effectively. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance and repair work. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus, to facilitate communication with team members and guests.
