Responsibilities
Assist lead carpenters and construction crews with various tasks on-site, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools. Help with framing, trim carpentry, siding, door hanging, cabinet installation, and other carpentry-related activities to ensure projects stay on schedule. Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, organizing materials, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely. Support concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing, masonry, and water damage restoration tasks as needed. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and assist in fabricating or modifying components accordingly. Participate in demolition, restoration work, plastering, stucco application, and drywall finishing to meet project standards. Perform heavy lifting and assist with the transportation of materials around the site while adhering to safety protocols.
Skills
Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment operation. Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support accurate project execution. Familiarity with various construction trades such as framing (metal stud and wood), roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical work, plumbing, masonry, and drywall finishing. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics. Basic understanding of construction estimating principles and schematic interpretation is a plus. Experience with fabrication techniques including metalworking or woodworking enhances versatility on-site. Knowledge of restoration industry practices such as mold remediation, water damage restoration, caulking, siding installation, fixture hanging, and plastering is advantageous.
