We are seeking a
Carpenter Apprentice
who is eager to learn, reliable, and committed to developing strong foundational skills in residential construction. This role is ideal for someone early in their construction career who wants hands-on experience, structured learning, and mentorship from skilled carpenters working at a high level.
As a Carpenter Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced carpenters and project leaders to support the execution of high-quality residential remodeling projects. You'll learn jobsite fundamentals, proper tool use, construction techniques, and best practices for safety, quality, and professionalism.
This is not a "labor-only" role - it's an
investment role
designed to develop future craftsmen who take pride in their work and want to grow in the trades.
What You'll Be Doing
Field & Carpentry Support
Assist Lead Carpenters with framing, demolition, trim, cabinetry, and finish work
Learn proper techniques for measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling materials
Support jobsite setup, cleanup, and material handling
Learning & Skill Development
Learn residential construction methods, tools, and terminology
Observe and practice craftsmanship standards appropriate for historic and custom homes
Follow instructions carefully and apply feedback consistently
Quality & Jobsite Standards
Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
Handle tools, materials, and finished surfaces with care
Uphold company standards for craftsmanship and attention to detail
Safety & Professionalism
Follow all jobsite safety procedures and PPE requirements
Use tools and equipment safely and responsibly
Represent Architectural Craftsmen professionally with clients, coworkers, and trade partners
What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
Prior construction, trade school, or hands-on building experience preferred but not required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Strong interest in carpentry and residential construction
Core Traits
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Willing to learn and take direction
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Comfortable working on active jobsites
Pride in doing things the right way, not the fast way
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in varying weather conditions
Comfortable using hand and power tools with training
Work Environment
Active residential jobsites across the Kansas City area
Hands-on, team-based learning environment
Regular mentorship from experienced carpenters
Emphasis on safety, organization, and craftsmanship
