Responsibilities
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition or behavior
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's or dementia by implementing specialized care techniques
Use equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers while ensuring comfort and dignity
Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility protocols
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and follow personalized care plans
Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Experience
Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration is essential
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia enhances your effectiveness in this role
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information
Hands-on experience with patient monitoring tools such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts is advantageous
Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting residents or handling supplies
Previous roles involving hospice care, home health services, or long-term care contribute valuable insight into comprehensive caregiving
