Duties
Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; report any concerns promptly
Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning living areas, laundry, and organizing personal belongings
Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's to assist with safe transfers and mobility support
Document patient progress accurately in care records; update care plans regularly in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Assist with community outings or activities that foster social engagement and enhance quality of life
Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures; be prepared to respond effectively during emergencies or incidents
Requirements
Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group homes is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's or memory care needs
Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary for resident transfers or mobility assistance
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, residents' families, and other caregivers
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life through dedicated caregiving
Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends or overnight shifts as needed
