We\xe2\x80\x99re currently seeking a caregiver \xe2\x80\x9cPersonal Assistant\xe2\x80\x9d who will support a woman who lives in her own apartment in SE Portland and experiences developmental disabilities. She is a friendly, charming woman that likes to access the community. She is eager to work with a Personal Assistant who will value time spent in the community as well as downtime in the home. Together, you will enjoy shopping at Walmart, getting coffee, and going out to her favorite lunch spots.

You will also work together on household chores, cooking, attending medical appointments, and running errands. She needs substantial assistance with showering, dressing, taking medications, shopping and cooking, physical therapy, and using adaptive equipment.

You\'ll work two shifts per week totaling 42 hours: 8pm on Monday to 5pm on Tuesday (21-hour shift) and 4pm on Wednesday to 1pm on Thursday (21-hour shift). *You\xe2\x80\x99ll also work your regular hours on Agency holidays.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to pass our pre-hiring screenings, including a reference check, a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs, and a criminal history background check.
  • To meet the client\'s personal privacy needs, female applicants will be given preference.
  • All UCP Oregon employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they have an approved medical or religious exception. If you are hired, you will need to provide proof of vaccination (or obtain an approved exception) prior to starting work.
  • If willing to drive on the job, you must be at least 18 years old, have a current driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, a reliable personal vehicle, at least two years of driving experience, auto insurance, and a clean driving record. This is a preferred qualification.
  • Experience in the developmental disability field preferred, but not required.
Benefits
  • $18.00 per hour. Annual wage increase based on satisfactory performance.
  • Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
  • Holiday pay (double pay for the first 12 hours of any agency holiday shift that you work).
