  • SCHEDULE: Friday/Saturday 7am-7pm Sunday 3pm-11pm
This position is responsible for carrying out the daily duties of providing personal care task in accordance with the residents individualized service plans. Caregivers are also responsible for observing and reporting to proper department, maintaining required training, maintaining; company, state and federal compliance as well as safety compliance. Caregivers are also expected to work effectively with other team members. Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to: Providing Care of Residents: Caregivers are responsible for following service plans outlining each resident\xe2\x80\x99s specific care. Duties would include, but are not limited to providing personal care services, such as transferring, bathing, feeding, toileting, grooming, dressing and end of life care. Other duties include, observation, reporting of changes in condition, taking weights and measurements, vital signs, following infection control, resident\xe2\x80\x99s rights and Mt. Hood Senior Living policies and procedures. Observation, Evaluation and reporting: Strong ability to observe physical, emotional, psychological changes in resident and the environment. Be able to operate standard equipment such as a blood pressure cuff, thermometer, pulse oximeter. Know what and to whom to properly report resident changes and concerns. Maintaining required training: Caregivers are required to maintain proper certifications required by local and state licensing agencies which include on-going in-services trainings, accreditations, specific coursework and certification. Basic state requirements may include, but are not limited to First Aid, CPR, Dementia, Mental Health, Nurse Delegation, Med Aide, Lift Safe, CEU\xe2\x80\x99s and orientation to include basic skills check-offs. Continuous Quality Improvement: Caregivers are required to take steps to assure that services delivered are complete and follow the residents designed care plan. Identifying issues not supporting quality services will be reported to the immediate supervisor for correction. Safety committee participation as needed. On-going awareness of improvements with positive feedback and participation. Maintaining Compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines: Caregivers are responsible for following all local, state and federal regulations as they apply to services delivered for all residents. This involves care and documentation and compliance with HIPPA, OSHA and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines. Safety Compliance: Caregivers are responsible for insuring that they work in a safe manner and that they support other employees in working in a safe manner and that unsafe actions are to be corrected. Compliance with Safety Committee Standards is required.Should workplace injuries occur, the staff is to assist the Executive Director and Health Services Director when required with the investigation, return to work and management of the injured worker communication with care provider and Mt. Hood Senior Living. Team Effectiveness: Caregivers are responsible for fostering teamwork with co-workers, showing initiative in overcoming obstacles, taking actions which assists others beyond job responsibilities and having a positive impact on co-workers, residents and visitors. Perform other duties as assigned and needed. COMMUNICATION / INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
  • Verbally and in writing engage in a two-way communication and interact effectively with others, from a variety of social, emotional, cultural and intellectual backgrounds.

  • Communicate with others accurately both verbally and in legible writing in a timely manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Walk, stand, bend or sit for no less than 6 hours
  • Lift, carry, push, pull no less than 50lbs
  • Move, position, turn, transfer, assist with lifting or carrying without injury.
  • Handle and operate equipment such as lifts, blood pressure cuffs, computers
  • Coordinate hand/eye movement
  • Perform daily personal care task for residents
  • Operate and calibrate equipment per manual specifications
  • Read and follow specific resident care plans
  • Walk, stand, bend or sit for 6-12 hours in a health care setting while performing physical activities requiring energy without jeopardizing the safety of clients, self and others
  • Respond rapidly to emergencies
  • Operate computer
EDUCATION & LICENSING High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred- Certification as required by state EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Required- Must have 1 year of hands on experience in a caregiving role or similar function. Preferred- Long Term Care experience working with the elderly or medically fragile individuals. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits:
