In this leadership role, you will supervise caregiving staff, ensure adherence to care standards, support care planning, and help create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for clients. Whether working within home-based care, assisted living facilities, or group homes, you will play a crucial role in maintaining excellence across all caregiving operations.
Oversee, mentor, and support a team of caregivers to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, coach staff, and provide constructive feedback.
Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and team coordination to maintain adequate staffing levels.
Client Care Oversight
Monitor residents' or clients' needs and ensure care plans are followed accurately and respectfully.
Support caregivers in assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Review and verify documentation of vital signs, health observations, and daily care notes.
Care Plan Development & Compliance
Collaborate with nurses, families, social workers, and healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans.
Ensure medication administration procedures follow all regulatory, HIPAA, and safety standards.
Verify that all care activities are documented accurately and that compliance with healthcare regulations is consistently maintained.
Training & Skill Development
Provide onboarding and ongoing training in areas such as CPR, First Aid, dementia care, infection control, mobility assistance, and hospice care.
Ensure caregivers understand proper use of equipment, including Hoyer lifts and mobility devices.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in senior care, dementia support, autism services, and developmental disability care.
Quality Assurance & Safety
Conduct routine audits to maintain a clean, safe, and infection-controlled environment.
Respond to incidents, complete follow-up reports, and implement corrective action as needed.
Promote a culture of compassion, dignity, and respect in all interactions with clients and staff.
Communication & Coordination
Serve as the primary communication point between caregivers, families, and healthcare teams.
Address concerns from clients or families promptly and professionally.
Foster a positive, collaborative team atmosphere across all shifts.
Qualifications
Several years of proven experience as a caregiver, CNA, home health aide, or similar role; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of ADLs, dementia care, memory support, and mobility assistance.
Ability to train staff in safe lifting techniques, health monitoring, infection control, and specialized care equipment.
CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications (HIPAA, medication administration, dementia training) are a plus.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts as needed.
Valid driver's license may be required for community-based care coordination.
