1. Assesses the total needs of patients, including physical, spiritual, social and economic; establishes a rehabilitation plan.
2. Applies scientific principles in performing nursing procedures and techniques; applies knowledge of drugs and other therapeutic methods and diagnostic tests.
Performs treatments and procedures in compliance with cardiac rehabilitation policies and procedures.
Demonstrates competency in arrhythmia detection and intravenous insertion.
Responds appropriately to urgent/emergency situations.
3. Evaluates symptoms, progress, and outcomes. Documents, reports, and participates in team care conference.
Maintains a clinical chart documenting progress.
Reports a change in patient's condition appropriately.
4. Initiates and assists in patient/significant other education and health maintenance.

5. Develops and maintains communication skills with members of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Team, and other hospital departments.

6. Maintains current knowledge of Cardiac Rehabilitation Policies and Procedures.

9. Adheres to safety practices, reports accidents/hazards and maintains equipment as outlined in hospital policies.
