Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a POTENTIAL opportunity for a civilian Cardiac Catherization Technician at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree/Education: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) as determined by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as a cath lab technician within the last three years. Knowledge and experience in computer operations and proficiency in the use ofbasic word processing, data entry, and automated medical records. Must be able to stand while wearing up to 25 pounds of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for up to 4 hours.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support-Contractor personnel shall possess, provide proof of, and maintain certification in BLS and ACLS/ALS.
Core Duties:
  • Accurately documents procedure results within the appropriate electronic medical record used in the facility Composite Health Care System (MHS Genesis, Fysicon,etc.), or stored in a cardiology PACS server.
  • First assistant to the physician as a cardiovascular technician or monitor/circulating technician during any cardiac procedures such as left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker implants, percutaneous vascular procedures, intraaortic balloon insertions, transvenous pacemaker insertions, pericardiocentesis, loop recorder implant/explants, electrophysiology (EP) procedures, percutaneous interventions, and any other procedures performed within the cardiaccatheterization laboratory (cath lab).
  • Participates in patient assessment, procedure set-up, teardown, and clean-up, while incorporating safety, quality, and values aligned with trusted care and patient centered principles.
  • Ensures instruments and equipment are operational before, during, and after a scheduled procedure. Ensures equipment is maintained IAW the Medical Group Infection Control (MDG IC) Guidelines and the manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s specifications.
  • Performs operational checks, inspections, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and quality control levels according to the manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s specifications. Assists with quality assurance controls, improvement efforts, staffing requirements, as well as data collection and analysis. Documents any quality control levels and follows Medical Equipment Repair Center (MERC) and manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s inspection requirements.
  • Participates in administrative/support functions as well as continuing education programs to maintain skill and/or knowledge in order to meet the medical center\xe2\x80\x99s vision of train, teach, and treat while delivering Trusted Care Principles.
  • Uses the PACS for identifying, archiving, reviewing, and retrieving current and past examinations.
  • Complete daily duties as well as other related assigned administrative duties under the oversight of the Cardiology department government representative, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Element Leader, or Flight Commander.
