This is a responsible and professional position with higher-level managerial responsibilitiesPerform professional work which involves the application of civil engineering, surveying, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), or project management to the design, oversight, and construction of public works projects This position consists of professional engineering work directly involving public health and safety requiring thorough familiarity with engineering and surveying principles and practices, American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards, Ten-State standards, and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulationsPerform professional work of an engineering and administrative nature in assisting in the direction of the office and field staff of the Water Department Maintain healthy relationships with Ohio EPA and expect to be actively involved with the Ohio AWWADirect "in-house" planning and design of public works projects, involving preparation of preliminary engineering reports and detailed construction plans and specificationsDirect and coordinate activities of department staff as they relate to engineering and related aspects of projects and department related field as deemed acceptable by the Department HeadAt least six (6) years of professional engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training as deemed acceptable by the Department Head Possession of a license issued by the State of Ohio to practice as a registered Professional Engineer (PE) Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License at all
