Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Handler to join our team. As a Handler, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and handling of animals in our facility. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a passion for animals and previous experience in pet care or veterinary settings. You will be responsible for building the skills of teammates as well so good communication, patience and a drive to learn are important. This is an active position and will require physical stamina as well as dependability.

This is a back of house role, you will be on camera but the position mostly revolves around feeding, group play, and cleaning.

An applicant for this position should already have some experience working with dogs in a professional setting and be comfortable and capable in a yard with a group of 15 large dogs.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor play groups for safe, active play.

- Take photographs of dogs to be sent to customers.

- Handle and restrain animals safely and securely

- Provide basic grooming services such as brushing and bathing

- Clean and maintain animal enclosures and living areas

- Feed and provide water to animals according to their specific needs

- Administer medications or treatments

- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel

- Assist with exercise and playtime for animals in our care

Requirements:

- Previous experience in animal handling roles is necessary

- Understanding of dog behavior and group management

- ability to work outside and indoors despite weather conditions

- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is appreciated

- Knowledge of proper animal handling techniques and safety protocols

- Ability to work well in a team environment

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time

- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required

Weekend shifts are required every weekend. Shifts start as early as 6am and can end as late as 8pm. Reliable transportation required. Close proximity preferred.

Please understand that the range of hourly pay is based upon kennel/commercial experience. Only persons with paid experience will be considered for this job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 42 per week
