Union Campus Security Officer - Access Control
Pay Rate: $20.40/hr
Hours: Multiple full-time positions available (8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, and variable shifts between 7am-11pm)
Location: Manhattan, NY
Position Summary:
The Campus Security Officer is responsible for maintaining access control, monitoring CCTV, ensuring the safety of all building occupants, and providing excellent customer service. Officers must maintain professionalism, alertness, and adherence to post orders at all times.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and control entry at the main lobby desk, verifying credentials for all personnel and visitors.
Conduct radio checks upon assuming post and maintain constant communication with the Operations Desk.
Maintain a clean and professional work area; inspect and report any damaged or missing equipment.
Conduct hourly entries in memo books and complete detailed Daily Activity Reports (DAR).
Enforce access control procedures, ensuring only authorized individuals are permitted entry.
Assist with visitor verification, including calls to confirm authorization when necessary.
Report safety hazards, suspicious persons, or unusual activity immediately to the Operations Desk.
Perform vertical patrols after hours and record building conditions.
Monitor stairwells and alarm panels, notifying Operations Desk immediately upon activation.
Follow all company policies regarding conduct, communication, and professionalism.
Requirements:
Valid NYS Security Guard License
1+ year of experience in access control or campus security preferred
Must possess strong communication, customer service, and observational skills
Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods
Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a professional appearance
Schedule Availability:
8am-4pm shift (Monday-Friday)
4pm-12am shift (Monday-Friday)
Variable 7am-11pm coverage (multiple shifts available)
