High school diploma or equivalent
Must hold an associate degree

have successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approved WORKKEYS test

JOB GOAL:
To supervise students in cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, school grounds, and parking lots to ensure proper student behavior and safety.
The work involves responsibility for ensuring the safety of students and staff, maintaining order, protecting school property, and enforcing school rules and regulations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist principal and assistant principals in enforcing school and district rules, regulations, and policies regarding student discipline
Patrols school halls, stairwells, restrooms, courtyards, entrances, parking lots and other parts of school buildings and grounds to protect persons and property, maintain order and insure compliance with school rules
Check hall passes
Questions persons on school premises who are not students or staff and advises as to school rules and either directs visitors to school offices or ask them to leave
Periodically reports to principal on problems, incidents and conditions affecting security, either orally or in writing
Develops a positive rapport with students in order to keep them safe
Monitor and supervise the loading and un-loading of buses or student parking lot
Monitors door and hall traffic during busy entry and exit times to ensure only appropriate students and staff are entering the building
Advises teachers, counselors, social workers, or administrators about potential or actual student problems concerning class cutting, truancy, disciplinary problems
Monitor detention hall/ISS when necessary
Positively greets and ensures all visitors follow building security protocol and sign in procedures
Escort students and visitors to designated location, as needed

Nine-month position in accordance with the Board's salary schedule for paraprofessionals.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Tarrant City Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
