Overview:
The calibration technician will utilize their knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to effectively plan and perform work related to calibrating, troubleshooting, and/or repairing various Measurement and Test Equipment at the Quonset Point facility. The primary responsibility of the calibration technician is to identify and apply appropriate calibration procedures to ensure measurement accuracy and functionality of equipment in the electrical, dimensional, physical, and mechanical domains. Additionally, the technician must be able to recognize routine problems, devise solutions, and take effective action to address issues encountered during the calibration process.
Primary Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:Identify and apply appropriate calibration procedures to ensure accuracy and functionality of measurement and test equipment in electrical, dimensional, physical, and mechanical disciplines.
Track and maintain calibration standards and laboratory equipment.
Conduct research on measurement and test equipment and laboratory standards.
Communicate and coordinate with vendors, engineering staff, Groton Metrology, and managerial personnel to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
Collaborate with and support manufacturing areas to solve problems, meet needs, and adhere to production schedules.
Perform administrative tasks related to laboratory operations.
