Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Barista/Cashier to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality beverages, and handle cash transactions accurately. This role offers an engaging environment within a vibrant cafe setting, where attention to detail and a passion for coffee and food service are essential. The position involves working with POS systems, managing food safety standards, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

We have part time or full time availability and are open Wednesday-Saturday 10-5pm, Sunday 12-5pm. Pay is $15/hour plus tips.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and specialty drinks using established recipes and techniques. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling. Greet customers warmly, take orders efficiently, and provide excellent customer service. Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including food preparation stations. Ensure food safety standards are followed during food handling and serving. Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic food handling and serving duties. Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during busy periods. Support sales efforts by upselling products and promoting specials or new items.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Barista or in food service is preferred, especially within the food industry or cafe environment. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and managing transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous experience in coffee preparation, serving, or retail math is advantageous but not required.
