Description

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing as well as coordinating delivery of components, raw materials, finished goods and other supplies as required for the Houston Plant. In addition to working directly with plant personnel, this person will work daily with corporate purchasing, corporate logistics as well as other functions as required. This person must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a high-performance work environment.

Responsible for procurement activities related to supplies, raw materials, and other goods necessary for proper operations of the plant by considering price, quality, delivery conditions, and supply continuity.

  • Create and manage purchase orders for production raw materials and indirect plant supplies.
  • Manage plant raw material inventory stocks at set levels and communicate changes to order lead times, minimum order quantities, safety stock and other related measures.
  • Monitor market trends and respond to vendor communications and identify possible future complications that may affect plant operations.
  • Communicate bulk delivery schedule to affected personnel. Bulk deliveries are by appointment only.
  • Monitor status of orders and ensure deliveries are completed on time and communicate status to affected plant personnel.
  • Work with corporate sourcing and indirect procurement to ensure approved vendors are available for plant needs, specifically for raw materials.
  • Initiate and resolve claims with vendors for overages, shortages, freight issues, and damaged received goods.
  • Evaluate costs and review cost reduction activities.
  • Process and maintain documents as required by Plant Manager.
  • Negotiate prices and terms and considers different factors to select vendors for new and existing materials or services.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by Solenis to ensure the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Participate in employee-led teams at the site.
  • Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor for the logistics operations of the site.

\xe2\x80\x9cThe expected compensation range for this position is between $41,300.00 - $60,000.00, plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.\xe2\x80\x9d

Experience
  • 3-5 years of Chemical Manufacturing experience
