Bus/Van MonitorQualifications: Ability to work with othersAbility to assume responsibility for supervising studentsAbility to read and write, to understand verbal instructions, and to communicate with fellow employees, students, and Director of TransportationAttend driver training days and mandatory inservicemeetingsReports to: Director of TransportationJob Goal: 1. To assist the bus driver in providing safe transportation for students by maintaining order on a school busor van by directly supporting individual children as neededPerformance Responsibilities: Assists the driver in maintaining appropriate student conduct on the bus or vanAssists young or disabled students with getting on and off the bus or van; operates chair lift; assists students in crossing streets; assist with seat belts and harnesses where appropriateAssures that students get on and off the bus or van in an orderly fashionAssists driver with disciplinary problemsPerform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assignedPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.
