Job Overview

As a Barback, you will play a vital role in supporting the bar staff and ensuring that the bar operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to gain experience in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist bartenders in providing excellent customer service while maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar.

Duties

Assist bartenders with drink preparation and service, ensuring timely delivery of beverages to customers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and utensils. Stock and replenish supplies such as liquor, mixers, garnishes, and ice as needed throughout shifts. Help with the setup and breakdown of the bar for events or busy service periods. Support bartenders by providing prompt assistance during peak hours to enhance customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and service. Engage with customers when appropriate, providing friendly service to enhance their experience.

Skills

Strong understanding of hospitality principles and practices within the food industry. Experience in catering or restaurant environments is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being proactive in assisting others. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive experience for guests. Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to interact effectively with staff and patrons. Physical stamina to handle the demands of a busy bar setting, including standing for long periods and lifting supplies as needed.
