Job Summary:

Responsible for providing excellent service, food and/or beverage and a fun, clean atmosphere to the Guests according to Brand and Hotel Standards and expectations. Responsible for cleaning, setting and maintenance of tables while providing a fun, clean and safe atmosphere according to Hotel and Brand Standards. Provides excellent product knowledge interacts with Guests in a variety of indoor and outdoor open air locations. Ensures a strong focus on an optimal Guest experience. Creates and maintains an atmosphere that induces guest to make Centennial Plaza - Gulfport their entertainment choice in the Gulf Coast area and maintains a high standard of employee relations at all times. Maintains a high quality property appearance at all times. Ensures efficient quality service. Remains in compliance with all department and company policies and procedures, internal controls and government relations. May attend periodic meetings and training sessions. Welcomes and greets arriving and departing guests. Proactively provides our guests with personal service and attention that exceeds their expectations. Accountable for maintaining high service and quality standards according to brand standards, including Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Satisfaction Surveys. Provide general information while maintaining four-diamond, four-star service to guests. Ensure that the companys Mission Statement and Vision Statement are continuously met. Job Duties: Daily Operations As a Busser your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Constant execution of Centennial Plaza - Gulfport standards and policies.
  • Ensure excellent relations with guests and other team members.
  • Maintains integrity of your Food and Beverage operations.
  • Understand, comply with and enforce:
    • All Company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
    • All federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
  • Provide friendly, courteous service to all Guests in a manner that guarantees they intend to return.
    • Interact with Guests while pre-bussing.
    • Make Guests happy by exceeding service expectations.
    • Notify a Supervisor or Manager of any Guest complaints or concerns.
  • Ensure a high standard of service efficiency, sanitation and training.
    • Know all table numbers and floor plans
    • Keep floor clean and free of debris.
    • Use and maintain all tools and equipment safely.
    • Complete required and ongoing training for the position.
    • Assist management in training new Team Members within the Department when applicable.
  • Prioritize and complete all assigned station task, sidework, and station set up for maximum productively and efficiency.
    • Complete all opening, running and closing duties.
    • Gather and clear all tableware soiled and deliver to Dishwasher.
    • Clear and set table according to specifications.
    • Maintain adequate supply of ice to all service stations and ice bins.
    • Change empty BIB as needed.
    • Move tables, chairs and adjust floor plans for special functions, large groups or parties, band performances, etc.
    • Keep all trash cans in service area clean and empty.
    • Maintain cleanliness of front fa\xc3\xa7ade of the restaurant, guest rooms, floors and surrounding areas by keeping them swept, mopped and free of spills, trash, debris, etc.
    • Ask for help whenever needed.
  • Ensure a harassment-free environment through proper personal conduct.
  • Use respectful language with Guests, Team Members and supervisors and Managers at all times.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations to avoid danger to self, Team Members, and Guests; remain calm at all times.
  • Adhere to responsible alcohol service established by Hotel and company policy.
  • Understand and utilize all safety and sanitation practices as defined in the safety program; report any accidents.
  • Guide Guests and answer questions thoroughly, and provide information about venue and Hotel when asked.
  • Assist Server according Hotel and company Policy.
  • Practice full hands in/Full hands out.
  • Make Guests happy by exceeding service expectations.
  • Scrape, rack, and stack all dishes and glassware properly in dish area according to Hotel and company policy.
  • Assist Host with greeting and seating when necessary.
  • Notify Manager of low inventory.
  • Understands and is proficient in all systems and tools needed to perform duties.
  • Make eye contact and greet Guests with a warm smile.
  • Assist in loss prevention by practicing proper security safeguards.
  • Have strong knowledge of hotel facilities and services, and local attractions.
  • Accountable for maintaining high service and quality standards according to brand standards, including Quality Assurance Inspections and Guest Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills needed.

  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment at all times.
  • May attend weekly or monthly departmental meetings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED a plus.
  • 1 to 2 years serving in a high volume Food and Beverage environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills a plus.
  • Ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside contacts.
  • Ability to complete a heavy workload and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good judgment and decision making abilities.
  • Health permit/food safety and Alcohol Awareness. Team Member is required to obtain cards individually and provide proof of possession prior to first day of employment subject to local laws and regulations.
  • Cash handling skills may be required.
  • Must be able to represent the Hotel and Family Entertainment Center in a positive manner when in public view, public settings, on Social Media or other area or times that could become public knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

On a continuous basis, stand or sit for long periods of time, intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies, perform simple grasping and fine manipulation; use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
  • The incumbent should be able to stand continuously for periods over 1 hour.
  • Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly. Long hours sometimes may be required. Medium work Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Pushing, pulling and lifting objects from lower to higher position or higher to lower position or moving objects horizontally, from position to position and be able to grasp objects while bending, stooping, standing, sitting or walking.
  • Will be required to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Will be required to balance and carry heavy trays of beverages and or food to and from tables.
  • Climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
  • Hearing sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus both indoors and outdoors.
  • May occasional travel for training purposes or other business needs.
  • May be required to work, in a changing indoor and outdoor environment, such as bright sunlight, noise, wind, rain, cold, snow, heat, smoke etc.
  • Must poses sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, scanners general office equipment and mulita-line telephone.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers, guest, and members.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, and cooperativeness.
