JOB SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Busser at Nobu is to provide prompt, courteous service to restaurant guests and ensure guests are satisfied with their dining experience by assisting Food Servers as necessary.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Make sure that all tables are set completely both before and after shift.
  • Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Polish all glassware as necessary.
  • Assist Food Servers in service of complimentary offerings and welcoming guests.
  • Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary.
  • Clearing and scraping all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table.
  • Communicates with Hosts, Servers and other Bussers to ensure each guest is provided with exceptional customer service.
  • Acknowledges and greets all guests they encounter
  • Stock all side stations with linen and proper glassware.
  • Service and explanation of bread to guests, after cocktails are served by the captain.
  • Maintain professional demeanor throughout service, assisting servers and captains as necessary.
  • Change tablecloth and reset tables as quickly as possible after guests leave the restaurant.
  • Service of Coffee and Hot tea.
  • Move tables throughout dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate need of the reservations.
  • Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
  • Completes special assignments for upper management as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Food & Beverage related position for a high-volume nightclub or high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
  • Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
  • Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
  • Work requires an attention to detail.
  • Work requires a strong understanding of gourmet dining atmosphere.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Loud, fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required
  • Ability to move throughout the outlet (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.
