Job Description

Being a Busser at Meridian restraunt is an integral role in serving our community and members. A Busser is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dining area, supporting servers and kitchen staff, and ensuring a positive dining experience for customers. Bussers assist in setting up tables, clearing dishes, and providing general assistance to help the restaurant run smoothly. Ensures that all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Set and reset tables, ensuring they are clean, wellorganized, and properly arranged with utensils, napkins, glassware, and condiments. Replace tablecloths, placemats, and set new utensils after guests leave. Stock and refill items like salt, pepper, and sauce on tables. Assist server throughout service procedure, to include clearing soiled dishes, glassware, flatware, pour coffee/tea/water, and bread service. Provide assistance to guests, when necessary, such as offering refills on drinks or directing guests to their tables. Remain polite and friendly when interacting with customers to help create a welcoming atmosphere. Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure customer needs are met. Clear dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils from tables after customers have finished eating. Transport soiled ware to dishwashing area. Wipe down tables, chairs, and highchairs after each use to ensure cleanliness. Keep dishwashing area clean and tidy. Ensure that dining area and dishwashing area are set up properly for the next shift. Monitor the cleanliness of the dining room and report any issues to management. Responsible for completion of all opening, running and closing side work daily. Help set up or break down special event areas, such as banquet setups or private parties. Other duties as specified by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Capable of working extended hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as necessary. Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing with corrective lenses if needed. Ability to exchange and receive information through written and oral communications and to make discriminations in sound. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities. Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 80 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day. Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills. Must be able to transport oneself throughout the community including but not limited to the restaurant, kitchen, bar, and other community areas.

Maintains a well-groomed appearance.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employees must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns. Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties. Must be able to work in a welllighted, temperaturecontrolled area sufficient in size to allow freedom of movement to accomplish tasks. May also be exposed to the outdoor elements in an uncontrolled temperature with varied lighting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Food handler's card required. CPR/AED/First Aid certificate desirable Minimum 1 year working experience. Knowledge of proper methods of setting and clearing tables, including proper sanitation procedures, is highly desirable.

Schedule:

Must be available 5 days a week ideally for daytime shift of 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. or evening shift from 3:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. (We are open 7 days a week). Reliably commute to Lincoln Hills: Orchard Creek Facility A background check, medical exam and drug screen are required for this position.
