Part-Time Business/HR Manager
20-24 hours per week | $25-$30 per hour
The Music School of Delaware, the state's only comprehensive, statewide community music school, seeks a skilled and motivated Business/HR Manager to support the organization's administrative and operational functions. This part-time position plays a vital role in ensuring effective business management, human resources administration, and organizational compliance across both the Wilmington and Milford branches.
Position Summary
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Business/HR Manager oversees human resources, payroll, and business operations for the School. The position will work closely with Insperity, the School's HR and payroll services provider, to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processes. This role also supports the management of vendor contracts and insurance policies while working closely with key administrative and facilities personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of human resources, including employee benefits, employment agreements, compliance, and personnel support.
Serve as the liaison with Insperity for HR and payroll functions. Insperity will dually act as an HR advisor to support the business manager, who is the point of contact for staff.
Evaluate and manage HR vendor relationships and contracts to ensure service quality and organizational alignment.
Supervise payroll administration, coordinating with Insperity and the bookkeeper to ensure accurate coding and timely payment of invoices.
Oversee business operations for both campuses, including the Milford office.
Manage the organization's business insurance policies and renewals.
Work collaboratively with outside accounting and auditors as needed.
Maintain relationship with external vendors.
Data entry and invoicing (QuickBooks Online and Bill.com)
Access and review organizational financial data as needed to perform core responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in business operations, HR management, or nonprofit administration.
Knowledge of payroll systems, vendor relations, and HR compliance best practices.
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft Excel.
Experience with QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
Ability to manage confidential information and multiple priorities effectively.
Experience in the arts or education sector preferred; musical background a plus.
Compensation
$25-$30 per hour
, commensurate with experience.
