The Position
Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
Under general direction, incumbents train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and may serve as project leaders with responsibility for defining and managing the project scope and objectives. Non-supervisory positions allocated at this level receive minimal or no technical supervision within their department.
The Division of Social Services (DSS) is seeking to hire a Business Process Analyst 3 to join our Project Management Office Project Delivery Team in Carson City or Las Vegas. This position will serve as the Project Delivery Team Supervisor and Project Manager to manage multiple large DSS software projects. A Project Delivery team supervisor will supervise project managers through performance reviews and mentoring, prepare strategic planning documents like release management tracking for projects, work collaboratively with user acceptance testing (UAT) team, development teams and operations teams. This individual will exhibit leadership in planning through service as one of the supportive leaders in the Project Management Office for DSS. The candidate will supervise the Project managers, facilitate software development project meetings, track requirements, development traceability matrx, assess risks, issues and track defects. Prepare project schedules, project requirements and project plans. The candidate will manage all projects with Project Web Application (PWA) and Microsoft Project planning tool deployed. Lead the release management and training teams in all efforts smoke testing, post production planning activities, project schedule adjustment, and vendor collaboration. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and three years of progressively responsible professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included two years of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
