JOB TITLE: Business Office Manager
DEPARTMENT: Administration
SUMMARY:
Responsible for directing the billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and ensures processing and coordinating these functions with the corporate office.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Directs processing of accounts receivable, adjustments, accounts payable, payroll, private and third party agencies, census information.
2. Manages resident trust funds and maintains confidential files.
3. Manages collections of past due residents' accounts receivables and provides reports on these to the administrator and to the corporate office.
4. Organizes, evaluates, and monitors business office operations to ensure these functions are performed effectively and efficiently.
5. Evaluates and monitors performance of business office staff and recommends adjustments or corrections as required.
6. Coordinates all facilities fiscal processes with the corporate office.
7. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
8. Develops and maintains a good working rapport with intra-departmental staff and other departments within the facility to ensure fiscal services and activities are maintained to meet the needs of the facility and the corporation.
9. Maintains and directs the implementation of corporate fiscal policies and procedures.
10. Accumulates, maintains, and complies statistical information as directed.
11. Concerns him/herself with the safety of all residents in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also, ensures that the facility adheres to the legal, safety, and health, fire, and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the center's fire, safety, and disaster plans and being familiar with the current MSDS.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Ensures that the business office is maintained in a clean and safe manner and that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform required duties.
2. Provides information to residents and families, as necessary, or refers to appropriate department or agency.
3. Assists in projects as assigned by Executive Director.
4. Maintains confidentiality of all facility and corporate information.
5. Must maintain good personal hygiene and follow the required dress code.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must have knowledge, and experience, using computers and office machines
2. Must be knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to healthcare financial processes.
3. Must possess ability to make independent decisions and problem solve as appropriate. 4. Must possess ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the business department.
5. Must possess ability to positively interact with team members, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
6. Must be able to work beyond normal working hours when necessary.
7. Must possess strong organizational skills.
8. Must be courteous and tactful at all times.
9. Must exercise discretion in handling of confidential information.
10. Written Communication: Is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect. 11. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
