Overview

Compass Security Solutions is seeking a motivated

Business Intern

to support our executive and operations team. This internship is ideal for university students interested in

business management, organizational leadership, and the security industry

. The intern will gain exposure to the inner workings of a growing security company, including

operations, scheduling, marketing, and client relations

.

Responsibilities

Assist with

scheduling and workforce coordination

using Therms.io. Support leadership in preparing

client reports, proposals, and presentations

. Contribute to

marketing strategies

, including social media content, newsletters, and community engagement. Conduct research on

industry trends, safety standards, and business development opportunities

. Assist with

administrative functions

such as data entry, CRM management, and policy documentation. Shadow supervisors and leadership to gain an understanding of

risk management and client relations

. Participate in

company meetings

, providing note-taking and follow-up support.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a university program (Business, Management, Criminal Justice, Marketing, or related field). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Familiarity with business tools such as Google Workspace; willingness to learn Therms.io and Odoo CRM. Interest in the

security & safety industry

and how businesses manage personnel, safety, and client trust. Strong communication and analytical skills.

Internship Details

Location:

Bend & Redmond, Oregon.

Duration:

10-12 weeks (with option to extend).

Commitment:

10-15 hours/week (flexible).

Compensation:

Profit share, commission, or for-credit opportunity (depending on university requirements).

Learning Outcomes

Experience with

business operations

in a security services company. Exposure to

leadership decision-making

and client-facing strategies. Practical skills in scheduling, reporting, and organizational management. Understanding of how a security business integrates

business culture, risk management, and community relationships

. Basics of Sales & Marketing campaigning as well as managing of the communications with clients. Learning the issues, & concerns businesses deal with on a daily.
