This is a true hunter role for a sales leader with deep expertise in the plastic pail industry or extensive experience selling manufactured products within the broader packaging space. The successful candidate will be responsible for aggressively growing sales by targeting & closing new business with brand owners & direct end users, while equipping & managing distributor channels to operate as true sales partners -- not passive resource consumers.

This position requires a strategic, results-driven mindset aligned with the 80/20 rule, focusing most of the time on identifying, pursuing, & converting high-value direct customers. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in complex B2B sales, with the ability to lead, train, & hold distributor partners accountable for performance and growth targets.



Key Responsibilities:



Drive new business development by identifying high value opportunities aligned with our injection molded capabilities and closing sales with direct brand owners and end users of our solutions. Identify customer challenges and pain points, then work collaboratively with internal and external engineering teams to develop custom packaging solutions. Manage and grow existing accounts while maintaining a strong focus on acquiring high-potential customers. Develop and execute territory-specific sales strategies focused on high-margin opportunities. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline; manage the sales cycle from lead generation to close. Provide strategic training and support to distributor partners, enabling them to act as an extension of the sales team and not a drain on internal resources. Deliver on individual sales targets, KPIs, and regional growth objectives. Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and pricing strategies. Use data-driven insights and CRM tools to drive decisions and forecast performance. Participate in key marketing initiatives and represent the company at industry trade shows and events. Conduct regular field visits, customer meetings, and onsite plant tours to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):



Proven track record as a "hunter" in sales: self-motivated, persistent, and results oriented. Deep knowledge of the plastic pail industry or experience selling manufactured packaging products. Strong understanding of complex sales cycles and high-value B2B negotiations. Demonstrated ability to manage and hold distributor networks accountable. Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms. Willingness to travel extensively as required.

Education:



Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:



Minimum 5 years of new business development experience in B2B manufacturing sales. Prior experience in plastic packaging (plastic pails preferred) or related industrial packaging sectors strongly preferred. Experience selling in a dynamic, pricing-sensitive environment is highly valued.
