The Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is seeking two career service finance professionals with budget and grant compliance experience. The Business and Finance Officer III positions (BFO IIIs) are part of the Director's Office Finance team but provide direct, day-to-day support to specific DCHS Divisions.
One BFO III will partner with program managers, providers, and budget and compliance leads in the Children, Youth, and Young Adults Division (CYYAD) to advance community-driven initiatives focused on strengthening communities, increasing equitable supports to improve educational outcomes, and making the County a place where all young people are happy, healthy, safe, and thriving. CYYAD manages the Best Starts for Kids (BSK) levy, the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA) revenues, and Education and Employment Resources (EER) funds.
One BFO III will join the Budget, Monitoring and Reporting (BMR) team as a Business Liaison supporting the Behavioral Health and Recovery Division and reporting to the BMR Manager (BFO IV). This role works in partnership with program managers and the BMR fiscal team to manage the resources dedicated to behavioral health services delivery across King County.
Responsibilities span budget development and monitoring, expense and revenue projection analysis, grants management and cost allocation, expense reviews and approvals (desk monitoring), procurement support, financial research to inform decision-making and strategy, and continuous quality improvement of financial processes.
