JOB SUMMARY
: Complete the Cherry Creek School District's bus driver training program and obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with both a "P" (passenger) and "S" (school bus) endorsement within one (1) month of hire.

Attend and participate in the district Bus Driver training program.

Assist driver in maintaining appropriate student behavior by monitoring behavior and intervening as necessary and reporting incidences of unsafe or inappropriate actions that occur on or off the bus.

Aid in the loading and unloading of students, especially those with special needs.

Communicate with driver in developing a team environment.

5.
Through route sheets and reports, acquire and maintain information such as medical information, physical limitations, and symptoms that may require immediate attention or intervention concerning assigned students.

Ensure all students are properly loaded and seated.

7.
Assist bus driver in keeping special needs equipment picked up and stored in its proper place when not in use, cleaning the interior of the bus, and sanitizing seats after each route.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
No professional work experience required
Colorado driver's license
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with both a "P" (passenger) and "S" (school bus) endorsement within one (1) month of hire
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certification within one (1) month of hire
Must be at least 21 years of age
Successful completion of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical within one (1) week of hire
Must meet insurability requirements of the Colorado School District Self-Insurance Pool
Must have a clear/clean Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle record within the past three (3) years
Must pass Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Colorado Department of Education screenings
We cannot consider any application for bus drivers until we have an original of your Motor Vehicle Record dated within the past 30 days. We cannot consider any applicant whose license has been suspended/revoked within the past three years or who has had a probationary license for less than three years. We cannot consider any applicant who has been convicted of DUI or DWAI within the past three years.
