We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for children and individuals in need of paratransit services. This role requires strong driving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a bus or van to transport children and individuals to various destinations, including schools and community centers.
Educate passengers on safety protocols and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.
Manage behavior of children during transit, providing guidance and support as needed.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and maintenance standards are met.
Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during transit.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking as necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Experience
Previous experience in bus driving or van driving is preferred.
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is highly desirable.
Familiarity with paratransit services is a plus.
Strong behavior management skills to effectively handle various situations that may arise during transport.
Ability to communicate fluently in English; additional language skills are a bonus.
