Position: Bus Driver


Building: Bus Garage


Time Schedule: Per Route


Salary Rate: $19.89 / HR


Reports to: Transportation Supervisor/Building Principal/Assistant Superintendent/ Designee

Bus Driver

Transport children safely to/from school and other approved destinations. Make sure wheelchairs, seat belts, car seats, and booster seats are installed correctly. Assist with students with special needs as necessary.

Essential Functions:

Transport students for the assigned schools Properly check vehicle and report any deficiencies Maintain route information and associated paperwork Work with building principals to maintain student discipline

Qualifications:

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) - proof required CLD with School Bus endorsement Current Bus Driver Certification Successful FBI & BCII background check in accordance with Board of Education Policy and the applicable ORC

Frequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue Frequent interaction among unruly children Occasional extensive sitting, up to 2 hours at a time Occasional requirement to stand and walk Frequent requirement to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, read, hear, and see (occasional color vision required) Occasional requirement to lift and carry up to a maximum of 65 pounds Occasional requirement to push and pull up to a maximum of 300 pounds (on wheels) Occasional overtime work will be requested and expected of the employee
