As a School Bus Driver for the Lower Kuskokwim School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring students arrive to school safely, on time, and ready to learn. This is more than a driving job--it's an opportunity to support students, connect with families, and serve as a trusted member of your school community.

What We're Looking For
You're a great fit for this role if you:
Hold a
High School Diploma or equivalent
Are
21 years of age or older
and meet all requirements under Alaska Dept. of Public Safety regulations
Possess a valid
Alaska driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsements
Have a
strong driving record
and experience with large vehicles
Can confidently follow and communicate instructions, complete reports, and maintain accurate records
Know--or are willing to learn--Alaska laws and safety regulations for school bus operations
Can maintain control of the bus, foster positive student behavior, and communicate effectively with children of all ages
Are comfortable driving in
challenging weather and road conditions
Bring a positive attitude and a desire to promote good public relations within the school community
Your Responsibilities
As a School Bus Driver, you will:
Drive a passenger bus over a designated route following a set schedule
Pick up and drop off students at approved locations
Transport students to school events, activities, and field trips
Maintain safe behavior and enforce bus rules
Assist students, including those with disabilities, getting on and off the bus
Report serious disciplinary or safety concerns to school administration
Know emergency procedures and locations of aid stations
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
File accident or incident reports when needed
Keep accurate trip logs, counts, and required documentation
Communicate with dispatch and other buses via two-way radio
Report equipment issues promptly

Pay: $37.08 - $45.08 per hour
