Job Summary

The Bus Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation to and from school or related activities. This position involves assisting the bus driver with managing student behavior, providing support to students with special needs, and fostering a positive environment on the bus. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly in educational settings, and possess strong communication and conflict management skills.

Duties

Assist the bus driver in ensuring the safe boarding and disembarking of students. Monitor student behavior to maintain a safe and respectful environment during transit. Provide support to students with special needs, implementing behavior management strategies as necessary. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents. Administer first aid when required and ensure that all health protocols are followed. Help manage conflicts among students in a constructive manner. Maintain a clean and organized bus environment. Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to support individual student needs.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred. Knowledge of special education practices and behavior management techniques is advantageous.
