Building Substitute Teacher

to join our school team. This individual will serve as an on-site substitute, providing daily instructional and classroom support as needed across grade levels.

Position Overview

The Building Substitute Teacher supports student learning by covering classrooms for absent teachers, assisting with instructional activities, and helping maintain a positive and structured learning environment. This position offers consistency by working in the same school building and with familiar students and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide classroom coverage for absent teachers across grade levels Implement lesson plans and instructional activities as provided by the classroom teacher Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment Follow school procedures, behavior expectations, and schedules Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and staff Assist with supervision duties as assigned (arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, etc.)

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred Ability to manage classroom behavior and engage students positively Strong communication and organizational skills Dependable, flexible, and professional Must meet district requirements for substitute employment (background check, onboarding, etc.)
