Builder Services Technician (HERS Rater / Energy Inspector) - Greensboro / Triad, NC

$50,000 - $65,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented

HERS Rater or Rating Field Inspector (RFI)

to join our team as a

Builder Services Technician

. In this role, you will perform on-site inspections and energy assessments on new residential construction, helping builders achieve energy code compliance and high-performance certifications.

construction, HVAC, inspections, or building performance

What You'll Do

Conduct visual inspections and diagnostic testing on new homes Collect data, run energy tests, and prepare inspection reports Educate builders and contractors on energy-efficient practices Stay current on building codes and energy standards Work independently in the field with a business-minded, problem-solving approach

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred: RFI or HERS Rater certification (not required -- training available) Construction or HVAC background is a plus Must have valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance Ability to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work on active construction sites Drug screen and background check may be required

Schedule

Monday-Friday 8-hour shift Local travel within the Triad (mileage reimbursed)
