Position Overview

The Bug Wrangler is responsible for the daily care, cultivation, and quality control of insects, arachnids, isopods, springtails, and assorted feeder species. You'll maintain healthy cultures, manage inventory, support order fulfillment, and help customers choose the right organisms for their setups.
This role is hands-on, detail-driven, and essential to our operation. If you love entomology, thrive in a structured routine, and don't flinch at a bin of crickets that sounds like it's plotting something, this is your moment.
Core Responsibilities

Invertebrate Husbandry & Habitat Care
Maintain optimal environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, substrate).
Feed, hydrate, and provide routine care for multiple species.
Track reproduction, health, and overall colony quality.
Feeder & Clean-Up Crew Management
Gut-load and maintain feeder insect populations.
Prepare, pack, and ship springtails and isopods for customers.
Ensure all organisms meet internal quality standards.
Cultivation & Production
Breed, grow, and sustain in-house cultures to meet demand.
Monitor breeding populations and adjust accordingly.
Maintain compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations.
Inventory & Documentation
Track inventory levels and help manage shipment needs.
Maintain accurate spreadsheets and operational records.
Assist in loss tracking and operational reporting.
Safety & Operations
Follow OSHA and internal safety protocols.
Maintain a clean, efficient work environment.
Support general warehouse operations as needed.
Customer Support & Technical Tools
Help customers select appropriate feeder insects or clean-up crews.
Provide expert care guidance and product recommendations.
Use software tools such as Shopify, SKULabs, HR Solutions, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Nextiva, POS systems, and Outlook/Front.
Minimum Qualifications

Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Hands-on experience with animals, invertebrates, or similar roles
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift, move, and manage physical tasks in a warehouse environment
Comfort working with insects and arachnids daily
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Certifications in animal care, welfare, or ethics
Experience in a production, warehouse, or biological care setting
