Position Summary



The Kitchen / Breakfast Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the hotel's daily breakfast service. This role ensures all food items are prepared, stocked, displayed, and served according to brand standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests.

Key ResponsibilitiesBreakfast Setup & Food Preparation



Prepare, heat, and restock all breakfast items according to brand standards (Choice / Country Inn Mesa standards) Ensure hot items reach proper temperature before service (document temperatures if required) Set up buffet line, beverage area, serving tools, condiments, and to-go items Refill coffee stations, juices, syrups, cereals, pastries, and grab-and-go items Maintain correct food rotation (FIFO)

Guest Interaction & Service



Greet guests, answer questions about breakfast items, and assist with special requests Offer exceptional service and keep the area stocked during peak hours Monitor the dining room for spills, trash, or items needing replenishment Remove used dishes and wipe tables frequently to maintain a clean and inviting dining area

Cleanliness & Sanitation



Follow strict food-handling, sanitation, and safety guidelines Regularly clean counters, waffle stations, microwaves, refrigerators, and prep areas Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and high-touch surfaces throughout the shift Empty trash, maintain cleanliness of floors, and keep storage areas neat Wash, dry, and store kitchen utensils, pans, and serving equipment End-of-shift breakdown of breakfast area including wiping, storing, and labeling items

Inventory & Stocking



Restock refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage with breakfast inventory Maintain organized back-of-house storage and notify management when items are low Label and date all open products to ensure compliance Assist management with weekly inventory counts if needed

Team & Operational Support



Communicate with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding busy times, guest needs, or shortages Coordinate with Maintenance for broken equipment, temperature issues, or malfunctions Assist with laundry pick-ups (rags, towels, aprons) when necessary Ensure breakfast starts promptly at designated times and is fully stocked throughout the entire service window

Closing Duties



Properly store all leftover items according to food-safety rules Turn off equipment (ovens, warmers, waffle makers, lights) Clean and sanitize the kitchen, breakfast room, and prep stations Prepare a basic setup for the next morning (placing dry goods, refilling syrup, restocking coffee, etc.)

Requirements & Skills



Strong communication and customer-service skills Ability to lift 25-40 lbs and stand for long periods Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask during peak times Basic food-handling knowledge (Food Handlers Card preferred) Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Hospitality, cafeteria, or food-service experience preferred, but not required

Shift Expectations



Breakfast served on weekdays 6:00-9:30 AM; weekends 7:00-10:30 AM Attendant must arrive early enough to ensure all items are fully heated and ready at start time Complete daily checklists for setup, service, and closing Maintain a professional, friendly presence during the entire shift

To provide a clean, well-stocked, and welcoming breakfast experience that makes guests feel taken care of and reflects the quality of the hotel.

El Asistente de Cocina / Desayuno es responsable de preparar, mantener y desmontar el servicio diario de desayuno del hotel. Responsabilidades PrincipalesPreparacion del Desayuno



Preparar, calentar y reabastecer todos los articulos del desayuno segun los estandares de la marca Asegurar que los alimentos calientes alcancen la temperatura adecuada antes de servir (registrar temperaturas si es requerido) Configurar la linea del buffet, area de bebidas, utensilios, condimentos y articulos para llevar Reabastecer las estaciones de cafe, jugos, cereales, panaderia y articulos "grab-and-go" Mantener la rotacion correcta de alimentos (FIFO)

Atencion al Huesped



Saludar a los huespedes y asistir con preguntas o solicitudes especiales Ofrecer un excelente servicio durante las horas de mayor actividad Vigilar el area del comedor para limpiar derrames, retirar basura o reabastecer articulos Retirar platos usados y limpiar mesas continuamente para mantener un comedor limpio

Limpieza y Sanitizacion



Seguir estrictamente las normas de manipulacion de alimentos, sanitizacion y seguridad Limpiar regularmente mostradores, estacion de waffles, microondas, refrigeradores y areas de preparacion Desinfectar mesas, sillas y superficies de alto contacto durante todo el turno Vaciar basura y mantener pisos y areas de almacenamiento organizados Lavar, secar y guardar utensilios, sartenes y equipo de servicio Desmontar el area de desayuno al final del turno

Inventario y Suministros



Reabastecer refrigeradores, congeladores y almacenamiento seco Mantener el area de almacenamiento organizada e informar al gerente cuando algo este bajo Etiquetar y fechar todos los productos abiertos Asistir con inventarios semanales si es necesario

Apoyo Operacional



Comunicarse con la recepcion y housekeeping sobre horas ocupadas o necesidades del huesped Reportar equipo danado o problemas de temperatura al departamento de mantenimiento Ayudar con toallas/rags de lavanderia cuando se requiera Asegurar que el desayuno este listo a tiempo y completamente surtido durante todo el servicio

Deberes de Cierre



Guardar correctamente los alimentos sobrantes segun las reglas de seguridad alimentaria Apagar todo el equipo (hornos, calentadores, waffleras, luces) Limpiar y desinfectar la cocina, area de desayuno y estaciones de preparacion Preparar articulos basicos para la manana siguiente (productos secos, cafe, jarabes, etc.)

Requisitos y Habilidades



Buena comunicacion y habilidades de servicio al cliente Capacidad para levantar 25-40 libras y estar de pie por largos periodos Atencion al detalle y habilidad para multitareas en horas pico Conocimiento basico de manipulacion de alimentos (Tarjeta de Manipulador preferida) Responsable, puntual y capaz de trabajar de manera independiente Experiencia en hospitalidad o servicio de comida preferida pero no requerida

Expectativas del Turno



Horario de desayuno: lunes-viernes 6:00-9:30 AM; fines de semana 7:00-10:30 AM Llegar lo suficientemente temprano para que todo este caliente y listo al inicio del servicio Completar listas diarias de apertura, servicio y cierre Mantener una presencia amigable y profesional durante todo el turno

Objetivo General



Proporcionar un desayuno limpio, bien surtido y agradable que haga que los huespedes se sientan atendidos y represente la calidad del hotel.
