Branch Operating Hours

Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays to 5 p.m.

Some community events/involvements could be outside of normal operating hours.



First State Bank is searching for a customer-service driven individual to provide employee leadership through example and organization to the overall operations of the branch. Our ideal candidate will represent us in the Gluckstadt market and beyond and share in our excitement every step of the way as we grow in this new location. A Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all branch operations and ensuring cohesiveness to best meet the needs of the location.



QUALIFICATIONS - ONLY THOSE WHO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS POSTED WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Basic skills include teller and/or knowledge of new accounts procedures, familiarity with IRAs and CDs and supervisory experience in an financial environment. Knowledge of lending or lending support would be a plus as would experience with Horizon XE. Must be proficient in Word and Excel. Advanced education in Finance or other and/or completion of banking school could be an advantage. Required skills are knowing how to supervise others, practicing policy and procedures as written yet having the ability to make independent decisions based on the same. Must outwardly demonstrate a natural inclination towards customer service and ease in meeting new people. Essential skills include initiative, decisiveness, overall effective communication skills, organizational and problem solving. A willingness and flexibility to be active and visible in community events is important.

RESPONSIBILITIES Daily employee oversight and managing workflow (i.e. absences, time off requests, approving time cards, annual performance evaluations and progress reports, reprimands and rewards, contribute to new hire process); notary services; teller functions, opening new accounts, CDs, IRAs and maintenance of each; customer and employee communication by phone and in person; fielding inquiries about online banking, check orders, debit cards, including unauthorized account activity; facilitating wire transfers; responding to customer concerns; approving checks, holds and check signing; and providing lender support by entering applications, packaging, submitting to Loan Operations, making payment decisions, reviewing past dues and maturing loans, working exceptions, letters of credit and preparing loan presentations for Board approval. A Branch Manager is also responsible for branch supply orders, coordinating special events, monthly security meetings, alarm testing and other as assigned.



Regular attendance according to the work schedule and branch needs is necessary and essential as is receiving detailed information, verbally, in person and by telephone. Extensive reading and computer use is expected the majority of the time. Job involves some prolonged sitting, some standing, the ability to maneuver stairs at the location and much typing.
