Program Director

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

The Child Care Specialist will be required to supervise children's daily activities, prepare stimulating games, help them develop good personal hygiene, and to ensure that healthy meals and snacks are available. The Child Care Specialist should enjoy being around children and feel comfortable handling multiple responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Provide a safe, nurturing, yet fun environment for children



2. Supervise children during playtimes and mealtimes



3. Provide basic childcare services such as changing diapers, assisting with bath time, and ensuring children are properly fed and dressed



4. Model good character and hygiene habits and encouraging children to follow them



5. Provide positive reinforcement, but also being firm when necessary



6. Offer emotional and physical support when children are hurt or injured



7. Notify primary caregivers should an emergency arise



8. Pick up children from school, assisting with homework, and preparing meals and snacks



9. Adjust to parents' schedule as needed

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience working with young children and youth is a must



2. Knowledge of psychological and emotional development in children

SKILLS / ABILITIES:

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills



2. Ability to work in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment



3. Excellent multitasking abilities



4. Sound judgement skills

LICENSES/CERTIFICATONS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent



2. CPR and First Aid certifications are

required

3. Early Childhood Education certification preferred
