Job Description

As a Bookkeeper at Azalea City Tax & Accounting, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. You will manage day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded correctly and promptly. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records for clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Process payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and trial balances. Assist with tax preparation and ensure timely filing of required documents. Manage and update client accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar). Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data and answer accounting-related questions. Collaborate with senior accountants and tax preparers to assist with audits and year-end closings. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of client financial data. Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and tax laws.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred). Proven experience (2+ years) as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role. Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations is a plus.

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits Familiarity with payroll processing and related regulations Experience with financial report writing and analysis Proficient in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
