Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers an opportunity to work with various accounting software and contribute to the financial health of our organization, whether in a corporate, non-profit, or governmental setting. The successful applicant will possess strong technical skills in accounting principles and software, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities



Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, debits & credits, and account reconciliations Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments Handle payroll processing and related tax filings in compliance with applicable regulations Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions accurately Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and other relevant financial regulations Assist with budgeting processes and provide account analysis as needed Conduct governmental accounting tasks if applicable, including grant management or fund tracking Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation and account analysis Perform general bookkeeping duties such as 10 key typing, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting

Experience



Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation Background in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting preferred; experience in governmental or public accounting is a plus Familiarity with tax preparation processes related to payroll and business taxes Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare accurate financial reports Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial report writing skills Prior experience handling accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing is highly desirable
This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, proficiency in technical accounting tasks, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.92 - $30.01 per hour
